Hey! I'm new to the site and looking for some Louisville T-Bird action!
I've got a 1977 Thunderbird that I've been working on for two years. This Thanksgiving I'm going to visit my folks in Detroit and pick up a new addition to the nest . . . a 1994 4.6 'Bird (red on red) with only 23,000 original miles on it! Looking forward to meeting some local 'Bird/Cougar fans . . .
Welcome to the TCCoA and the Ky chapther! That's cool that you are getting another bird... like the idea. I'm hoping we can get something going as far as some kind of gathering of sort. We have had (3) prior mini meets... 2 over at Cox park down on River Rd. and 1 at Woody's Pub on Westport Rd. Place's like Cox park is an ideal place for together's cause of the open space. Thanks for stopping in...hopefully we all can get together before the cold weather moves in.
Sunday 10/28 I leave for the SEMA show in Vegas, but as long as I don't have any customers' cars to detail, then I'm in for Saturday 10/27 or Sunday 11/4.
Cox's park is a great location. Never been to Woody's Pub . . .
Jeff- love the SC's! Looking forward to checking out your cars and meeting some of you guys.
Hey... that's awesome you got the motor to start, and I would hope you will bring it to the meet (if we have one!) I'd like to have it before this new month is up too, couple of weeks tops I have talked to Matt about the meet, so him and his girlfriend can again bring there (2) SC's and there is another SC'er located in Paoli, In. So hope to see some new faces.
So... would mid Nov. work for everyone?, shoot for a Sunday.
Sounds good to me. Bird is in the middle of the swap. I got the motor, tranny, driveshaft, entire rearend assembly, front and back disc brakes in all in one weekend. Just need to button up my fuel lines and exhaust. The biggest problem im having is getting my ecu flashed to run it. Anybody know of anybody?
Try calling Lee Blankenship. He is out in Crestwood...his website is www.blankenshiptuning.com . His number is at the bottom of the website. He works at a FORD dealership (Tri-Country Ford) as a mech. He is the one that SCT tuned my car, so I figure he may be about to help out with your problem. Give him a call!
i had mine SCT tuned by the famous jerry, and would recommend him for anything. he helped me time and time again and didn't even charge me after the initial purchase dispite me needing 4 different tunes. but i'm not sure he does walk-in type work, i've also bought a tranny from him. what did you do for exhaust? that's my only hold up right now.
plan your exhaust carefully long before you get everything in. i'm looking at having to pull the engine back out, and i have no idea what to do with it. it cost around 4-500 for the tuner and tune, but don't quote me on that. i paid for it long before i started the swap, so i still had it when i needed it.
amen. what are you doing for exhaust? i can't figure out how to attatch the driver's side manifold to anything. the shop tells me you can't weld onto cast iron (the manifold is cast, right?) and we had to cut off the cat to fit it in, so there's no flange.
If you can't weld to cast iron then how did they weld on that cat from the factory?Hmmmmmmm. I know you can't weld to aluminum but the manifolds are cast so you should be able to. I got 2.5 to 3 back to 2.5 inch ehaust with two mac flowpaths at the end. Plenty loud enough.
Any interest in meeting this Saturday or Sunday, 11/17 or 11/18?
Weather is supposed to be nice.
Or, my "new" 1994 'Bird will have been relocated to Louisville by Sunday, 11/25; I'd like an excuse to go out and stretch its wings that day . . . Good excuse to get away from all the turkey leftovers too!
Guys, if ya want... we can meet up this Sunday. Say down on the waterfront, the parking lot next to the great lawn. Where the swings are. I work Saturday. How about 3ish, as far as the time to meet. I'll try and give a couple of people a call that have SC's too!
The Joel Bender Memorial Nationals - SB 11 - 2012 will be scheduled for August 24-26, 2012.
The event will be held in Martinsburg, WV as usual with the racing venue in Hagerstown MD at Mason Dixon Dragway.
A complete itinerary will be provided soon for the proposed scheduling. Be assured that...
