I found someone selling a valve body with the shift kit already installed with the 2nd level of performance. I need to know the following:

1. Did the instructions have you to modify the seperator plates, like drill bigger holes in them?

2. What rpms does your car shift at driving normally (1st 2nd and 3rd gear. And what rpms does it shift at at WOT?

3. Did the instructions have you to replace any springs in the pistons? Or plug any holes in the tranny?

Im asking these questions because the Trans-Go shift kit has you to modify the seperator plates and change a spring in one of the pistons, and plug a hole in the tranny.

The mod in the tech articles is for the 4R70W trannys though. I have an AOD.

Ive been but havent ran my car yet... its still a work in progress. Have you seen the latest MM&FF, there is a guy in there that has a SuperCoupe and dropped a SC 5.0 in it along with other goodies and is running 14s... Maybe thats a typo, but he says he ran a best of 14. How are you gonna get the T-bird in the 12s? I just looked in the tech articles and I see the shift kit is only 55 bucks... Id be better off getting that than chancing it with a used VB.

yea ted lyons (aka the guy in MMFF) did in fact run a 14 however he did it at 114mph!!! his car is not set up for drag racing, he does the one lap of america, its like a cannonball run type of thing. the car will do over 173 mph, thats what he was clocked at on one of the racecourses this past season. that car is set up for roadracing type of racing.
the car is very fast.

how to get into 12's Build up a mod motor big stall and a blower. thats my plan but first im going to beat DanU's N/A record.

Greenbird never reads, he just posts and usually the incorrect info (as we see above).

Yes, your 1989 has an AOD which the current J-Mod does not apply to. If Greenbird posted accurate info in all those 1,400 or so that he has, we'd be learning, not correcting.

so i guess i posted the wrong info too well i didt know he had a 5.0 i am use to talking to
all the 4.6 guys and thats the best way for us and , u feeling better now?

I wasn't trying to harp on ya dude, just pointing out. Actualy, the same formula would apply to the modular.
