I just had a rebuilt transmission and engine intalled in my 92 Sport. The engine runs fine but the transmission doesnt downshift from OD to 3rd without bucking back and forth until i manually shift it into 3rd. Same thing with the lower gears only not as much bucking. Also, the car will accelerate through the gears fine except it shifts into OD at about 35 to 40 mph. I think that is a little early. Question is what needs to be adjusted so that the car can down shift smoothly and upshift at desired shift speeds ?

Adjust your TC cable. It is the ONLY transmission input. If that doesn't help you've got a case with the shop.

EDIT: OOPS...TV Cable.

Driving with your TV cable out of whack is bad for the trans, too, me thinks. Best to take a look at it. Not very hard, especially if you have an assistant to work the throttle linkage.

same thing happened to me a while back, it turned out that the bushing that held the cable to the kickdown bar was disintegrated, an easy fix, check it out
