there is no way the median pay range of grocery store stockers in the zip code of 55902 is 28,875. i make the most out of all the stockers in the grocery department in the only grocery store in the zip code of 55902 and i only got about $20,311.03 last year. and with that said that proves that site is a highballer. it put me in the "lower 30 percent". i know for a fact what all my coworkers make and it is not more than me.

Well, that just makes me want to go to work all that much more knowing that I'm being screwed, lol... I know I'm underpaid since I work for a small company, but dang. If I factor in the cost of insurance for the family, my 401K, and a few other small deductions I still come out almost 8K in the hole according to that site. Even if they are a highballer I am still about 4K under what they consider a Level II/III Telecom Technician.

Then again they do pay for my training and tools, so I guess the fringe makes up some of that, as some of the training I've taken is several hundred per class.

I hope my boss never sees that site! Actually I hope my boss never puts in my zip code into that and checks, since at the home offices zip code they get about 25k more a year, and probably 35k/40k more where some co-workers live!

I was way underpaid, so, I walked out the door and got another job - I'm actually starting with the new Co. on Tuesday the 22ND. I got myself a $3,800 / year raise and much better benefits in the process. Fortunately for me, in my field the demand exceeds the supply of qualified people.

According to their website with basic info, yes. But they don't have a position that says, "Warehouse, delivery, computer specialist, HR representative, p/t salesman, A/V and appliance installer."

I work at one of those companies that likes to stick you with as many responsibilities as they can so they don't have to hire someone new, but still pay you as much as the new guys. I barely made $20k last year. I'm told I do an excellent job, even by the manager, and I'm well liked by most everybody. I started as an installer making $9.50/hour, stayed at that much when I moved to delivery after 10 months (which was like a raise, as they started out at $9). But at my 1yr review, I was given a $.75 raise to $10.25. Meanwhile, the new guys coming in are making $10/hour before I had my review. I've been here for almost 2 years now, breaking my back by carrying stupid SubZs to all the rich [email protected]$tards up in the Yellowstone Club, sliding around on the ice and snow that they can't have shovelled before we get there, trying to pull the truck out when it gets stuck, and then our warehouse manager yells at us for being slow. I'm getting tired of it and I'm ready to leave.

The thing is, three of our warehouse guys are leaving in a month when school is out, because they'll have degrees. So they need us, really. Do I give them my notice, or what?

I figure, I'll just keep applying for the technical jobs at the school (MSU), and as soon as they offer me one, I'm gone! An extra $2+ per hour (pushing me up $5-10k per year), maybe a salaried position, and six free credits per semester, that's too good to turn down. I need to finish my degree, and I'd rather not pay more for school than I already have.

"Squeaky wheel gets the grease." More like, "Squeaky wheel gets peed on."

Mine actually is about right. Doesn't seem to consider any benefit information, like heath insurance. I have paid over 1k a month for it when I was on my own.
Most people think they are underpaid, but in this economy be glad you have a job unless you live with your parents then you don't have to worry about how to make your house payments or how you are going to feed your family let alone your childs college tuition. Been there done that, not fun. Probably the hardest job I ever had was trying to find one in a bad economy after I got laid off.
Be thankful for what you have. If you think you deserve more, try to find another job that pays more. I personally would not tell my boss based on this survey that I deserve more. You might find yourself first on the layoff list.

I'm actually paid dead on for median before I consider benefits, so plus one for the military. However, that's only going on for another few months, so if I may ask, Trunk Monkey and Thunder Checken, what fields are you guys in? I could use a tip or two!
