Just got back from my local Tire retailer to get a front end alignment and they pointed out to me that I needed to replace te Tie Rod ends and replace the Strut Rod Bushing's. Looking at it I do se it has worn out and is alittle rusted.

They quoted me 426 bucks,, Is this something I can do my self?

Any help wouuld be greatly appreciated.

Yes, we do have strut rods, and they are not part of the shock/spring assembly.
They are attached to the lower control arms and the frame of the car. The cost to replace them yourself is between $15 and $60 per side, depending on which ones need to be replaced (front/rear i.e.), and what tools you already have.

It takes about 1 1/2 to do each side.

Greenbird, I think you mis-read his post...........

Good News

Took my Bird to Pep Boys today and they found nothing wrong with my Tie Rods or Bushings. Performed the Front End Alignment and sent me on my way with me only spending $ 55.

Bell Tire ( Local Tire Store ) will never see me walking into one of their stores ever again.
