Find a super coupe 5speed donor car. Since your car is a 3.8, you can bolt up the SCs M5R2 tranny, use the driveshaft, pedals and lutch hydraulics. Basically a bolt in swap.

The M5R2 will nearly be a completely bolt in swap. The M5R2 is actually a Mazda piece and I'm pretty sure it has a higher torque rating than the T-5.

Unless I'm mistaken they're the same, although the tranny mount may be different. I'd ask over on www.sccoa.com

So the M5R2 and T45 are different trannies? I've heard the T45 is hell to get in (and expensive). So if I bought a dead Supercoupe with a good tranny, I'd have pretty much everything I need?

If you bought the complete car, yes. What you need consists of the tranny, driveshaft, flywheel/clutch assembly, and the clutch hydraulics along with the pedal. The center console is a good thing to snatch as well.

In my opinion, the T45 wasn't that bad to get in, and I only spent $1500 on my swap including a rebuilt cobra trans, but it only bolts up to a 4.6L, not the 3.8.

Interesting. I always read that the M5R2 was a Mazda transmission.

The cross members are not the same. The stick cross member hooks onto the exhaust more forward. Some one has to have some pics as my car is away for the winter and pics can not be had until spring.
