I can get an axle very cheap that has about 77k miles on it, BUT I need it find the gear ratio. The donor car is a 87 T'bird with a 3.8 in it an the axle code on the door jam is: 5. I've been searching for about an hour and can't find out what the code means. I've also got the VIN code, but according to the decoders tha I have managed to find, the VIN doesn't give the alxe ratio. And before you say just to jack it up and take a peek, the T'bird is in an area that would make lifting it up very tedious at best. TIA

Sheeze, how did I miss that?!? Anyway, this should be a bolt-in correct? According to that chart, my current leaky axle has 3:08's, so I should gain a tiny bit of oomph on takeoff. Thanks again.
