I think we got a real good deal on this one. My brother needed a new vehicle, and I couldn't get him to bite on a CV, so we ended up with this.

Just got back the other night from PA with this one.

99 explorer sport, 69k miles, 4.0L SOHC, 4x4. Picked it up for 3400 cash.

Everything works on it, the guy had all maintenance done on it.

All it needed was new tires, which my brother was able to negotiate a deal with firestone, and get a new set installed for 270 bucks.

The owner owned a golf course, and he used the explorer to tool around the grounds. It had a little dirt/sod/grass in it, and could use a real good cleanup. Other than that, he was rear ended in the truck, and put a black hatch on the rear instead of a blue one.

Respray that, and a little elbow grease, and you have a real nice truck.

good tip, my uncle is a master mechanic in columbus, he said that very same thing. Other than that seems like a decent ride.

I know with the 01-early 03 Rangers, they had issues with the timing chain on the 4.0L SOHC's. Just something else to think about? Not sure if the Explorer SOHC's had the same issue or not.

Looks nice though - sounds like you got a good deal for it.
