well the hdd that i run my server off just died. i was going to back it up yesterday, but i thought what the hell, i'll do it in the morning. i get up to check the stats and my hdd is not responding to my requests. i restart the computer and my hdd is not detected by my box. to make a long story short, after testing and all the other stuff my hdd is fried, it has a toast like smell. the thing that hurts, i lost over 6 gigs of car video.

moral of the story: back your data up no matter how lazy you are.

try to find a fried drive on ebay that has a good circuit board and swap 'em out.....not the easiest thing in the world, but worth a shot if you really want the data.....i feel for you though......it'd suck to loose the 160gigs i have on this machine (120 gig and 60gig hard drive......only 20 left. lol)

already done

i've been looking for a duplicate drive on the net to replace the circuit board. if i don't find one it's a reason to buy a big mama jama that i could really serve off of.
