I'm having a little trouble designing a circuit, and I need a little help.

It's a very simple flasher circuit, alternating between two sets of LEDs; so when they're placed in between each other, it appears that they are chasing. I need a brightness control, speed control, and an all on/all off/chase switch.

I'll be using superbright white LEDs (~8000mcd), 45 degree viewing angle. VF= 3.5v (4.0 max), IF = 30mA. There will be between 50 and 60 LEDs total.

I'll likely be using a string of AA batteries for power.

Any input is appreciated.. I gotta get this built before the night of the 29th! :D

Okay, that's a start, thanks.. I was actually thinking about using solid-state relays to cut down some of the wiring, but I'm not sure yet.. and this would have to be adapted for the speed and brightness controls, and the 3-way switch.

Okay, this is what I have so far:



Right now, the lights cycle at about 1Hz. I would like to be able to adjust the frequency from that, up to a much higher frequency with a potentiometer. Also, bear in mind there will be again, between 50 and 60 LEDs that I will also need to be able to adjust the brightness for.
