Would like to know if 59 case size would fit in my 96 xr7? My car came with a case size 58, and it seems more case size 59's are available. Interstate tried to give me a case 65 battery, but it wouldn't fit. Are the battery trays different sizes?

You can use a Group 58 or Group 65 Battery..

The battery trays are the same whether your car came with a Group 58 or Group 65 Battery..

Some of the 3.8L cars came with a Group 58 Battery, but can be fitted with the larger Group 65 Battery without a problem..

AFAIK, all of the V8 cars used a Group 65 Battery size..

I recommend the Motorcraft BXT65-850, that's a Group 65 Battery size..

The BXT65-850 has the most cranking amps, and the best reserve of all the Group 65 Motorcraft batteries I've looked at..

You can either buy it directly from the dealership, or at your local O'Reilly Auto Parts..

Here's a link-->>Motorcraft Tested Tough MAX - Battery

The BXT65-750 and BXT65-650 Group 65 batteries fit as well..They just don't offer as many cranking amps or reserve power..

Rayo..
