what do you guys recommend for the cheapest, best sounding 15" sub/amp combo. ive been out of the audio thing for a little while, but ive got a 2.5 ft^3 box that was custom made for my trunk that is itching to have a sub put back in it. whats the recommendation? im trying to spend as little on this as possible, since i like putting my money into go fast stuff.

i dont know what ur gonna think about this, but i bought those american pro 15" subwoofers, i think they were two for 70 bucks. and they sound great to me. ive never had a problem with them even once in the 6 months ive had them. they hit very well. and, they also rattle the insides of houses when im near

it doesnt have to be expensive to be good!

just a thought

they sell them on ebay. thats where i got mine. they are American Pro chrome series (i think) they have a chrome front, and the back is all chromed out. The max input they say is 800 watts a peace. i had 600 going into both of them and they sounded great. im going to have 1000 going into both soon.

everyone tells me my system sounds great and ppl have stopped me on the road sayin...man! i wanna buy ur system! and my friends want to buy them from me! lol.

wow. ill have to ask around and see what more people think of them. 90 bucks for 2 15's is a steal, even if they are horrible i dont lose much. now i just need a ghetto amp and im in business.

if your goin for a good cheep amp, the Legacy 1200 watt series 2 will work GREAT with the two American Pros. Thats what i had before. I think the amp was only like 150-160 with shipping.

it would be well worth the money. nobody will really be able to tell the difference. lol

how much are you looking to spend you can get a RE HC 15 or the SE15 . they are new to the market but they are worth the $. and then go with a jbl 1200.1 amp you can pick them up for around 250 bucks and they put out 1400 watts rms at 14.4 volts and something like 1280 at 12.2 volts.

if i was you i would try to port the box you get more power output and you can set it up more for s.p.l. or s.q.

the web site is down right now http://www.respl.com/ but if you want anymore info on the subs check out www.termpro.com its a car audio website and they know what they are talking about.

im not looking into spending much money on this at all. the audiobahns are looking good for 90 bucks each. id have no use for the two american pro subs, but two for 90 bucks isnt bad either.

ill probably grab the audiobahn 15 and just steal an amp from a friend. im just looking to get a little bump back... by no means do i plan on competing

I have to agree on the audiobahn comment, they have worked great for me over the past year.

so.... if i drop my car off for like a week in NC, youll give it back to me like that right? :D
sure thing, only took me 23 hours to build that setup.......

And yes that 23 was in a row, I could have done alot better, but I was tired.

Next up, fiberglass top part of the enclosure, and cut most of the rear deck out so more sound goes through, without it looking like it is ported.

My friend and I are building boxes, and we cut flames into the back of the box, put plexiglass over them, put in another board behind it, painted it florescent and put a light inside the box. Whenever he opens the trunk, the light comes on. I'm painting flames on the outside in orange(he did blue) and painted the rest chrome, and putting a black light on the trunk. Have 2 12" Sony Xplods on the front and a 10" on the top. Have a Pioneer GM-X862 760 wt. on the 12"s, and a Blaupunkt BMA 200 on the 10". Don't get too much power from the Blaupunkt. It's meant for a small sub and 4 speakers. It's a 5-channel. 4x30 and 1x80. I'm just running the 80 wt. to the 10" cause I can't bridge that amp.
People tell me the Xplods are crap. I don't care, they look good and I'm running 250 watts max to each. It's what I can afford that looks good. And if I want to get another Pionneer amp, I can bridge each amp to a sub. They're rated at 1200 wt. max and I don't think 760 wt. max will hurt them.
I have pics of my amp, subs and box design on my cardomain page. the box didn't turn out the same as the pic. It differs a little on the design.

I'd suggest looking at the Adire Tempest. Here is the link: http://adireaudio.com/car_audio/subwoofers/tempest.htm I would bet that it would probably torch both of those subs in SPL and SQ.
