yeah so my car was misfiring on #7 and #8 cylinder, I took the spakr plugs out only to find oil all over them. This is bad. What exactly should I do here? Would it be more expensive to fix that or just have a new PI engine put in? thoughts?

Depends on where the oil fouling is coming from.

It it's the rings/pistons, I'd recommend the new engine.

If it's the guides/valve seals, I'd recommend repairing it.

Those are always tough decisions: repair or replace! :D

And it depends if you're doing the work yourself, or farming it out to a shop.

Just my thoughts and I'm sure others on here will have more suggestions.

Good luck.

I had had similar prob, (#7&#8)and cleaned up the plugs, and was ready to do a valve seal job, but the problem just went away... the answer was that somehow oil/water got into those wells, coated the plugs enuff to cause misfire , and foul the plugs due misfire.... if cleaning the plugs/wells doesnt work, go for the valve seals if a compression test doesnt reveal a ring problem( Worked for me) good luck
