My doors on my 97, you know the black part on the trailing edge is looking bad. It is painted flat black and cannot be waxed. I try not to touch it but there has got to be something that can be done to make it look better. Any ideas?

you could have it repainted. if its the same piece im thinking of, i painted it myself on my old 92 and it came out pretty good.

I was thinking of doing it myself...

I could easily mask off the door and back side window and spray it myself but is there a spray in a can that is good enough or should I leave it to a pro? And what is the official name or code for that flat black anyway?

i just taped the door off well and covered the rest of the car with a couple blankets. i think i used a low gloss black and finished it with a clearcoat. no idea what the paint code is, but unless your whole car is black i wouldnt worry about it. black is pretty much black.
