With the car in hibernation, I built an exhaust for it this past month. Connections to the muffler and boom tube are marman (v-band) clamps, my plans are to have some modularity to the system.

Exhaust details:
JBA Shorty headers, Jet-Hot coated
custom off-road downtubes
s/s flex joints
dual 2-1/2” Dynomax Tru-X muffler
Stock car boom tube

Pre-emptive to people asking why the car sounds like that, here are the engine details:

1995 T-Bird 4.6L short block, 2000 Ford PI cylinder heads Approximately 10.5:1 compression ratio.
Professional CNC Port, hand-finished, contoured combustion chambers, competition valve job, all by Renegade Racing.
SHM 2730 camshafts, .500/.500 lift, 230/230 dur, 114*lsa
PI intake manifold with aluminum crossover
C&L upper intake plenum
BBK 75mm throttle body

I still need to fabricate a rear mount, and trim back the tube a small amount.

sounds rugged, I like it but I dont know if your ears can take it all the time. Im sure it gets some attention once on the road. I think a set of SC GFX with a cut out for the tube with work awesome with the side exit.

It is mainly a street car now, but definately not a daily driver.

Some pictures were added to my gallery of the cylinder heads. I don't have any real good pictures of the combustion chambers, but the valves were un-shrouded as much as possible, and the dams were cut back and smoothed a little. FYI, removing the dams completely hurts flow. Removing the sharp edges takes away some potential hot spots.

It is not a daily driver, so noise isn't a real worry of mine.

BTW, I have a set of SC sideskirts, and have been thinking about trying that...

Where did you get the parts for this, and how much did it cost you? I'm thinking about doing this on my 393 car, since I also have the magnaflow mid-mount.

I bought a used boom tube from this place, they part out old race cars:

You have to give them a call to make sure of what you are getting, they have lots of odd stuff just lying around.

The clamp joints on the muffler are standard v-band marman type, very sturdy, no leaks. However, not cheap at about $40 per joint.

The flex joints are from Summit, ~$40 each. I also bought the 2.5" Hoooker "header extensions" to connect to the headers, generic bends, and tru-x resonator from Summit / Jegs.

I probably have about $450 to $500 in that system, from the headers back. It could be done a bit simpler for cheaper, though.

i would be nice to run one on both sides but dang tank is in the way. like it alot though i think the boom tubes make the magnoflow sound alot better. i like the sound of magnaflow but makes it more unique.
