Is there suppose to be a rubber boot over both of the caliper bolts. I have only one. and I think that the left caliper may be bad. Is there any way of easily checking the caliper. Thanks

Hafta use a torx bit behind the caliper, but yeah, the boot is sposed to be there.
I'm guessing you're changing your brakes....I wondered the same thing and then asked chiltons :p
You have to get at it from behind, kind of a pain in the anus, but its how things go *shrug*

yes. on the bolts that thread through the bracket into the caliper. i think they're there to keep dust out of the sliding area of the bolt.

Boots

They are supposed to be silicone brake grease on the pins and inside the rubber boots so they will slide to allow the caliper to move in and out. Sometimes they will seize up and you may have to force it out.
