alright fellas, i broke off the front bolt of the two on the drivers side fuel rail. the head is gone, and the threads are in the intake manifold. now the front fuel injector wont seat properly and skeets fuel everywhere. does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this. maybe rig it somehow? or get the leftover bolt out? thatd be great.
right now im stuck i dont even think zip ties will help me out of this one
thanx

no i havnt. i didnt think ez outs worked on broken bolts, ive only ever used them on on air fittings that broke at the threads on our trux at work
i was thinking that maybe i could drill it out and tap it. but i dont have access to a drill right now.
i guess there is really nothing else i could do is there
thank you scott
and thank yall for any other help

drill a hole in the center of the broken bolt(obviously smaller than the bolt diameter), insert EZ-Out. *TAP* lightly with a hammer, very lightly. turn EZ-Out Counter-Clockwise to extract the bolt. DO NOT break the EZ-Out off or you will have very little choice(to my knowlege) to do anything other than drill out the hole and rethread, or there is a kit that makes an insert that you put into the whole and use the original boltsize. I can't remember what it's called though.

Wow, that is a small bolt, if there is anything left above the boss use vice grips.

Once a blue moon ago, I used the ftlbs wrench, instead of the inch lbs wrench on a cam cover bolt .....4am :p

I was able to use a considerably smaller drill bit, that was very close to the size of a small allen wrench. I drilled into the bolt (make sure to be VERY STRAIGHT) make sure to eyeball the length of another good bolt. Then I hammered the allen wrench into the bolt, and very slowly attempted to turn it out with a pare of vice grips.
Has to be enough of an interference fit to grip well enough, yet not push out to much either.

That's a pretty tiny bolt for an easy out, but maybe they mike tiny ones.

The other thing is called a helli-coil.

Start with a left handed drill bit. Oftentimes it will turn the bolt right out of the hole while drilling.

IMHO Don't try and drill into it if you have broken off the easy out you will destroy drill bits and get nowhere(hardened).

Is there anything left above where it broke off to grab onto(vise grips).

Good luck!
