I am having trouble posting images from my Google Docs public folder. Following the conventional
tags I've always done for everything, the tags don't seem to want to work when posting from my public Google Docs folder, yet, I know people have been able to do this. What I get is just that small little picture when you get a broken picture link. What is the methodology of being able to do this successfully? And just to be clear, this is not from my Google Photos.

Well, no, you're putting the URL inside IMG files; you want something more like

<IMG> Haich Tee Tee Pea Ess Colon WhackWhack lh6.googleusercontent.com/4i0O5PJ_elV7jqzmBDTm00AzXMW8mcNPx5zBHSsHcyBuu-WyEQRy2NhvLPTixrbMY1EbO5Xsu3Z82L8=w1440-h770-rw </IMG>

(Spelled out to get the link posted, not evaluated)

Evaluated it would be

What you do is click once on the image; in Chrome right-click, left-click on "Copy Image Address", and paste that; not the link to the page where the image is hosted.

Well, I'll be.

It's forbidden (a 403 link) if I don't go there the other way.

Well, it might work if I log into Google Docs. *goes on this computer and logs in* Nope, still doesn't.

So, lesson learned.

Google Docs won't let you share images at all.

Try Photobucket, Imgur, or another image sharing site.

Well, I've seen it done before on a forum....I want to say here? I've been using my personal DropBox account for a few years because image hosting sites like the ones you mentioned are blocked here at work. So anytime someone puts up a picture from an image hosting site all I see here at work is that "broken image" image. So, I'm looking for alternatives, basically.

Heh.

I run my own web server, and host my pictures there.

That's always a choice.

See if your ISP has any user pages available (like one for your ID); see if that'll work.

I would love to run my own web server. Just don't have the resources currently to do it. It's definitely on my "project list" at home, but it's not something that will happen any time soon.

I'll look into the ISP thing.....if I keep them around, lol. I may switch due to recent billing issues I've had with them.
