hey guys

just got my first mn12 car, a 94 thunderbird with the 4.6L, I would like to use mustang bullitt style rims on the car and was wondering if anyone makes a reproduction rim with the 4.25" bolt spacing, or am I stuck using wheel adapters? I would rather not swap hubs etc to use 4.50" bolt pattern wheels since I just replaced all the brakes on the car and dont want to have to do it again, plus my winter tires are on SC rims and I would be stuck having to replace those as well if I went that route

any idea would be appreciated

thanks

This should be on the tires/wheel forums. Mod porfavor move. On another note, I do no think they do. You could either redrill the rims or do a mustang hub swap, and might as well do brakes too while you are at it.

If i am not mistaken i believe that the bullit rims for one reason or another actually are avaible in the 4.25" spacing. I somewhat recall it from a summit ad. But definatly totaly wrong forum section.

Would love to find a set of Bullitts for my car as well. But I am pretty certain that you'll have to do a Hub swap (I've been looking into it as well). On the plus side, if you do a hub swap, I'm certain you'll be able to find someone to buy your SC wheels to help offset buying a set of Mustang 16" wheels on Ebay for your winter tires. And I'm pretty certain that you could still use your current brakes on the new hubs.

Looks great, but I'd rather have them in Silver. I've been looking, but it hasn't been a real intensive search. If I found them I'd have to pay for them!

Ditto... Cudaz has had them available before. That would be your best bet. If not, try:

CustomWheelsMarket.com

You'll have to call... they do get them in 4-1/4" B.C. from time to time, but never seem to put them up on the site. That's where finally I got mine. Wanted polished aluminum, settled for chrome - beggars can't be choosy. Problem is, CWM doesn't show the "Bullit" center cap like Casper and I have. That's what you want on a Bird.

If you do a hub swap, you'll want at least a +36mm offset with a 9" rim. A standard Mustang offset is only +24mm... it'll have your rims sticking out a little too far. The fronts are easy... just swap 'em out. The rears are a bit cumbersome... you'll need to remove the spindles and have the old hubs pressed out and the new ones (from a Cobra IRS Mustang) pressed in at the stealership. Best of luck either way!

Casper,

Show off! Still usin' that baby oil on the seats? :D

That is all...

WOW man!

your car is absolutly stunning! I love it

sorry guys for posting on the wrong board, Im fairly new to this site and to MN12 cars in general, hopefully you could answer a question or 2 as well, my car is a 94 and I would like to have the sleeker front bumper the is on caspers car, I take it thats from a 96-97 t-bird? what parts are involved in converting the front end over to the later style, and also what brand of ground effects is on your car?

thanks for the help guys

P.S. love how you used a saleen whale tail spoiler on your car

Looking at the backspacing, I would guess those are pre 05 mustang BP and offset wheels. Did they get drilled for our bolt pattern? I can't tell. I would guess those are 8 inch wide. Here is what a 17x9 with a backspacing closer to what we need with a 3mm spacer look like:

I got mine from Customwheelsmarket.com, I should have done a hub swap and I would have if I had known the new Mustangs would have high offset wheels, because I didn't particularily care for the wheels sticking out (but as you can see, I don't mind a ton of gap between wheel well and tire :sigh:).

And you can't see the 82 F-150 to the right of the 89 Cougar and in front of the 2000 Grand Marquis! It is Oxford white and in 1982 era getup (square tube grill, big chrome square tube brush guard, chrome wagon wheel rims, etc).

supercoupeperformance.com sells the bullit and cobra r wheels in our bolt patterns. I just looked on there yesterday and the bullits they sell come in polished or chrome 18x9, cobra r comes in polished and chrome 17x9.
