Attention all Thunderbird and Cougar Owners....Do Not Purchase a C&L Mass Air Flow Meter if you are planning on putting in larger than stock Fuel Injectors, because the C&L Sampling Tubes will not allow for the Computer Tuning Company to properly set the Air/Fuel Mixture and thus you will have problems....

Wolverine27,

Actually that is BS. I had a C&L 73mm MAF on my AED supercharged '95 T-Bird and along with it, FRPP 30 lb./hr. injectors. The stockers were 19's. The A/F ratio was dialed in fine.

I then switched to an 80mm L-MAF since I was pegging the C&L MAF. While I think the C&L is junk just because it lies to the EEC and makes it think the engine is under a different load than it really is, there is no reason why a proper transfer function couldn't be created on a dyno.

Superchips has tried 4 times to get it right with the C&L 76 MM...Finally went to the 80 MM Lightning and no problem on first try...C&L admitted to me that there sampling tubes are not 100% accurate and that for T-Birds they have not had people go over the 19 LBS injectors, so they are unsure how the larger sampling tubes will function. This came straight from Lee Bender (Owner of C&L)

I wouldn't make something if I knew it was junk...

C&Ls are bad simply because they have an unknown transfer function. With a Pro-M or a Ford MAF, it's a known transfer fucntion.
