Any suggestions as to where I could purchase black paint for 1989 t-bird paint online? Exterior of course. My husband is going to do the painting after all he did re-build the whole enging for me. I bought the car 1998 As is "DOA" haha.. I needed a car at the time and money was scarce, I had all of $2000 I went to a dealer saw a t-bird in great shape loved it, realized I couldn't afford it there. I went and bought the local used car buyer magazine and looked for a t-bird at my price, long story short, I saw one in the mag called the guy fell in love with it. saw the potential and bought it! The bird does not date itself either 1989, it looks just as good as the new cars. When I took it to Sears for wheel balance the mechanic couldn't believe the year! However, if anyone has any tips on air conditioning please help!! I bought everything new and the air is still warm as toast.

Thanks for any and all help

A/C is a problem for alot of cars because alot of people don't understand the concept, and usually install something wrong, or mess it up by not using the right fluids.

Try taking it to a A/C shop if you live in area with high population.

As for the paint, I doubt it. Paint is classified as a HAZMAT, and you can't legally mail it, and i doubt UPS/FedEx would take it either. I got mine from a ford dealership, $10 for some touch-up paint. The b*tch was waiting 4 weeks for it to arrive because ford has to use a HAZMAT certified truck to transport it.

Even a reasonably sized town will have an automotive paint supply store. If there are more then 4 or 5 body shops in the area, there's a paint store. And with rare exception, they'll all sell to the general public. Check your local yellow pages.

I agree with SW. Paint is usually something you don't want to buy online. A local body shop will steer you in the right direction. I have had good luck with PPG Products, also Dupont Paints.

Paint for sale

I use Sherwin Williams Ultra 7000 line of paint now, and It's the best Ive ever used. No complaints with this stuff. You could probably purchase it mixed at any Sherwin williams store, just have to ask. As for paint purchase online, I've bought House of Kolor many times, and it ships just fine. No trouble at all. I dont know of anywhere that custom mixes online, and Ive been looking. Just make sure to use basecoat/clearcoat and read tech sheets and the job will be just fine.
