I have a 1991 TBird with the stock aluminum 15" directional wheels. I have been looking an aftermarket set, but so far everything is too expensive. My stock wheels are in good shape and have some good tires on them so I would like to utilize them. I am thinking about stripping the paint off, buffing them to a mirror finish, and then painting the center caps chrome.
Has anybody done this? Will the finished wheel look good?

There were some 97's that got these fanblades from the factory. Just take your wheels to a chrome shop and get them dipped, polishing will take forever.

Thats my buddy Brian, with Mark (greenAura) and me from left to right. That was like three years ago before the tbird madness really started :)

If I was going to spend that kind of money I would just get a set of Cobra R wheels. But that is a nice way to keep a car original and spice it up at the same time.

Are the centercaps on those fan-blade wheels metal or plastic? IF they're metal, you can get them powder coated. THere is a shop here in town that wanted 45 bucks a wheel, that included sand blasting, coating and a clear coat. Didn't do it because of the plastic centercaps.
