I know that the m5r2 is a much easier swap to do plus it uses a hydrolic clutch but since finding a m5r2 locally is nearly impossible can a mn12 clutch pedal assembly be used on a t-5 instead? i ask cause i've been trying to do the manual swap, i have the pedals and various other parts, but just want to know if its too much of a hassle.

I looked into in and it is impossible to use a mustang clutch cable setup in a Thunderbird. A manual linkage may be possible though. I would recommend using a Supercoupe master and a early bronco/ranger slave cylinder (external) setup. Then it is a matter of making some brackets and a clutch line.

Yes it can work. You will need to make a hydraulic line, and a bracket to bolt an external slave cylinder to the side of the T5 trans. Set it up so the slave cylinder pushes on the stock mustang clutch fork. Of course, the M5R2 is not only an easier swap but also a stronger trans, so if you can find one, that would be the way to go.
