I have a 94 T-Bird over here in the UK, and I'd like to know some history of the car while it was in the US.

Is there any sites that will tell me details of previous owners, or where the car was registered/built??

I've found the carfax site, but before I pay out to get their report, I was wondering if there were any better ones to try?

Thanks

Andy

carfax is pretty much the standard around here. There are a bunch of clone sites which are pretty much the same thing, but go with carfax.

Post the vin, and maybe someone with an unlimited account will run the vin for you.

Sorry I don't have any info I can give you, but I do have a question. Were T-bird's ever exported to countries outside North America? It's kinda funny to think of Bird's and Cougars being imports. Wonder what they'd call it if they did?

I think it was almost certainly built in Lorain, Ohio. But, after that you will need to use CARFAX.

Thanks for the info guys. My car was an import by a US serviceman (so I understand) there are not many later T-birds over here. Its LH drive, which is interesting as we drive on the left. There are a few other T-birds about that have been personally imported. Many car guys here dream about travelling to the US, finding there dream car for sale (rust free...), buying it and importing it back to the UK (many people have actually done this!).

Yeah, the T-birds are imports... :D
Actually, the MN12 was sold in the Netherlands but that's the only place
in Europe...

Mine's an import from Luxemburg so it was probably sold in the Netherlands,
imported to Luxemburg and then imported to Sweden..

But most are private imports...

Carfax costs money right?

Carfax cost me $24.99 for unlimited reports, so I thought I'd get two - one for the t-bird and one for my Firebird. However I've just tried the firebird, and they dont have any records of it except for the make/model etc.

Looks like I just wasted $5! Could have got the 1 report only deal. Doh!
