If you can weld to fabricate your own downpipes, I was able to buy downpipes mandrel bent to the right angle with the necessary flanges to bolt onto the manifolds for cheap from Josh @ http://mandrelexhaustsystems.com/
The 5.0 exhaust manifold outlet position is identical for the 3.8/3.8SC so they will work for you. All you will need to do is weld a on a y-pipe a flange to connect to the rest of your downstream exhaust.
Swapping will then become a quick bolt on bolt off affair. I took a look at what SCP will sell you also requires welding (or a press fit clamp) and I'm willing to bet you can get from MES the exact same item for a fraction of that price (it's just pipe). You will juts need to weld on a bung for the O2 sensors (simple).
I've been in contact with Bill at SCP and Josh at Mandrel............a deal for 2.25" down pipes from Bill and crossover 2.25" duals from Josh. Then two Cherry Bombs...........hey I'm old school..still have a fondness for glasspacks.
I was wondering if anyone has a part number or link for down pipes without cats on a 92 with a 5.0. I'm having a hard time finding anything on Google. Is there any other setups out there other than mandrel exhaust systems? Thank you.
I picked up a '90 SC for $300 because the complaint was the trans slipped. The car was used for towing previously and something was said about clutches being welded....turned out trans lines leaked and was low on fluid.
Drives fine in D, OD doesn't work. It only has 1st 2nd and third....a...
Hey there everyone, so my 95 sc when it gets warm and I step on the pedal the car will jerk hesitation like its struggling. But if I let off and drive normal everything is fine. Looking for answers. I already changed the cam position sensor and was told to change the ignition control module now...
I always figured the super coupe was a supercharged v6 until lo and behold on eBay appears a 1 of 50 made 1993 red super coupe with a 5 liter v8! Bill Elliot edition here right out of Georgia! This the only exception or were there more?
Just came from the Dyno.
Here's what I got:
238.1 rwhp @ 2900
371.4 rwtq @ 3900
The car is a '95 5spd with Under drive pulleys, a 10% overdrive super chareger pulley, MAC intake, 2-1/2 true dual exhust.
I've got to work on the 1/4 mile now!
