My girlfriends 1996 cavalier has a leeking coolant tank. Shop wants $100 to replace it, and I am hoping not to have to. I can get a new one for like 30 bucks, and the leak(which I cant see) I might even be able to seal myself. My question: If I pull out the tank and put back or replace, will I mess anything up? I know obviously I will have to replace the coolant, but am will this do anything like let air into the system or anything I am not expecting like that?

Thanks all

shouldn't hurt a thing. you're not really draining anything other than the overflow tank so if any air does get in there, it would be a releatively small bubble that would work its way back out. I would'nt think twice about doing it yourself.
