I remember the last compliment I received for driving the SC. It happened a little over two years ago but I remember those rare encounters well.

I backed my 94 SC into a space at the liquor store parking lot as a woman was walking out the front door. She was instantly drawn to my beat down looking drivers door and approached me with a smile. Maybe it was the quick rev of my gas pedal as I put the shifter into neutral and turned the engine off. The factory exhaust does sound a lot more ricey when you drive a supercharged 5 speed.

She told me all about how much she liked my awesome car and how these were very popular (in the esrly 90s) .. And fast. All of the cool kids in high school wanted a super coupe. The name says it all. We had a few laughs but had to part ways unfortunately. I would have taken her for a fun ride to relive her glory days .. Except she must have weighed about 300 pounds and was holding 20 ice cream bars in her arms that were starting to melt. 😂

When he gets ratted out, he'll have quite a slew of fines and legal proceedings. I don't envy him (or her).

Even in an airplane with a transponder/ADS-B for easy locating, busting class bravo airspace (even accidentally) is not something taken lightly. LAX is one of the biggest class B airspace domes in the nation, too.

I can't imagine it would be too hard to figure it out. How many people in the LA area could there be that own a jetpack capable of flying up to 6000ft?

On another note, forgetting about the fines, why would you want to fly a jetpack around a major airport? Getting splattered like a bug across the windshield of an Airbus doing 200+mph does not sound like a way I would like to go! Is flying a jetpack not enough of a thrill, you have to play chicken with a commercial jetliner at the same time?

6000 feet? I didn’t think jet packs could get that high, at least before running out of fuel.
1) I don't think he's smart; he's doing it for the thrill. The SFBay is a pretty damn busy shipping lane and you had folks kayaking to work across the bay.

2) JetPack Aviation, based in the San Fernando Valley just north of LA (aka porn valley and former home of Tom Petty) claims their pack can go up to 15K feet.
As the most logical source for expertise/tech to hit these heights, you can damn well believe that the feds are all over this company and anyone who has ever been affiliated with this company (as opposed to tracking down other crimes)

Still doesn’t really explain the duration, it takes fuel both to ascent and decent safely, so while it may be capable of hitting 15,000 feet, you’re probably going to end up a lawn dart on the way back

I don’t count the ones with wings where you’re facing the ground as jet packs, those are just small airplanes

So what's the explanation?
1 - Aliens?
2 - Previously unknown "future" tech?
3 - Or some idiot willing to strap a silly amount of highly flammable fuel to their nuts and shoot themselves up into the atmosphere into aircraft flight lines?
If some idiot is willing to drive cross country in a RENTED rolling gas can, I'm going to bet someone equally ballsy was willing to launch himself with a stupid amount of diesel/kerosine.

Rated at 10 min flight time and 15k feet ceiling.

I can't take an airplane up to 15,000 without supplemental oxygen. Without a pressure suit, someone used to near sea level pressures would probably end up with bonkers judgmental skills from hypoxia with such a rapid ascent. Most airlines are pressurized to 8,000 feet, a few newer models are pressurized to 6,000 feet. Go too high for too long, you end up with hypoxia and it's ... lights out. Nevermind the weird effects it would cause on your body. Ear pain, if not ruptured eardrums. The air pressure at 15,000 is not much more than half what it is at sea level...

Regulations are (for unpressurized aircraft) no flight over 14,000 without oxygen. If you're between 12,500 and 14,000 you need to be on oxygen after 30 minutes. Under 12,500 there's no requirement. But everyone responds differently to the different altitudes. Coming home one time at 8500, my wife felt lightheaded and sleepy, but I felt fine.

So my DOHC actually has 4,800 horsepower? Nice
No, it has 21. :ROFLMAO:

Lol .. No. A horse at full speed is equal to 15 horse power. James Watt calculated the power a horse could produce at walking speed. Then he built a steam engine that was more powerful than a horse. Your one horsepower is actually one steam engine to replace thr horse.

And No Matt .. Your car is equal to 21 actual horses running at full speed .. Or 320 steam engines from the 1800s. Just ask a Steamfitter. 😂
