I was wondering what is the best way to clean out the tank. The car has been sitting for almost a year and I know it had a few gallons in there. Thanks for the help in advance.

Tank

Years ago on 50's - 60's and most 70's cars, IF the tank had some rust inside I would remove the tank. Then remove the sending unit, etc. drop about a two foot long lentgh of good size chain in it. Then shake the Hell out of it and get the rust out. Wear ear plugs or hearing protection. You could try one of the tank sealers too.

Chris, I wouldn't even worry about it.
My car sat for 2 1/2 years with about 5 gallons of gas....the motor started right up with that old gas.
I'd say put a few gallons of some new 93 in it, run the tank almost dry, then fill it up, run it dry, then change the fuel filter, and then you should be all set.

I did the same thing, except, I still haven't changed my filter yet.
