Hey guys I Have a dilemma...

As you know i converted to a Mustang bolt pattern and got Mustang wheels

They are 20x10 in the back and tires are 295/30/20

I know...I know to wide, but it came as a special so i could not pass off the deal:)

I have Eibach springs and Tokico shocks

So here is the deal... I now rubb the tires almost every time i go over bumps or go in and out of driveways to fast lol

I have air bags installed in springs and when they are fully inflated they clear fine but the ride is bouncy and its becoming pretty anoying especialy when it rubbs!

So I think I have couple options...

1. Get narrower tires 275's maybe (they should clear)

2. Get different springs in back (maybe SC Spring or something)

3. Roll fenders (I am not sure how that will go with the paint)

4. Get Koni adjustable's shox (so when so when i adjust them there is less travel for the tire)

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?
Any Recommedations??

THANKS!

Where exactly do they rub? I am seriously considering 295's for my 18x10 bullitts...I have rolled fenders, however, with the 275s on my car, it seems rather pointless to have rolled fenders, plus, they are too narrow for the wheels and have a stretched sidewall....which sucks...do they rub on the inside or is it just on the fender or what?

They do look really, really nice in the wheel well, don't they. If you stiffen up that suspension enough so it doesn't touch the lip, it's gonna be just that - really stiff.

Kind of a "have the cake and eat it too" conundrum, huh?

I'm suprised you didn't get the fender lips rolled before the repaint...

Well the lips can still be rolled with a quality fender roller without damaging the paint, using a heatgun seems to be key.

Stiffer springs/shocks will help reduce how easily the suspension compresses but the tires may occasionally rub the lip when hitting bumps at speed.

Seem like rolling the fender is the best route in my case...

I gotta see if i can find a shop that can do it without damaging paint!

I looked on youtube and i could do it myself but i am nervous about messing the paint up:(

We shall see:)

use a rubber mallet on the sharp edge on the inside of the fender it may get it out of the way enough to clear because from the pic it looks like thats where your rubbing

You say that the ride is bouncy with the air bags at full pressure? Shouldn't that preload the suspension and make it stiffer? I think you need new shocks. I'd say do the koni shocks and see if that helps. There a fantastic shock anyway and you can't go wrong. I also noticed a slight lift in the rear when I added the Mark VIII LCAs with aluminum spring perches if you want to go that route. It does make for an aggressive stance...

Wait until late spring or mid-summer when the ambient temeratures are higher. You'll want the whole car nice and warm. Don't try to roll the fender with just a heat gun. You'll risk damaging that purdy ORANGE paint.

so i found a local shop that will do rear fenders for 100 bucks

however they will not guarantee against paint cracking:(

when i mean that ride is bouncy is feels floaty in the rear
so when i go over bump it bottoms the fender into the tire...

the area that is rubbing is only .5 inch into the lip and maybe 2 inches wide

so i am going to try to roll the fender and see how that goes first

i can deflate the bags to about half to eliminate the floating feeling...

its bouncy in the back cause you have to much weight.....lose some ass, and the ride will be better...

I would say a stiffer spring/shock combo...with a slight roll on the fender.
