Cobra brake sticky me thinks?

hmm, I would say no, if it included things like what to look for in a place to get the rotors drilled for our bolt pattern, what sort of hub ring you need, what wheels it works with (like what aftermarket 17s work and don't work), information on getting a spare that fits, what you need to do the rears, etc.

I realize that is for a Mustang, but stuff like them saying those star retainers for the rotors are a safety feature I gotta say that they are only there to retain them so putting on the wheel is a little easier.
Well I think it is a good reference to me. It will help me out visually when I do my swap when it get warmer around here. So expect a thread on here very soon!
It's good for the very basics of the swap, but there is more involved in putting them on an MN12. Stuff like the grinding of the banjo block on the passengers side, and like Bangster said, having the proper bolt pattern drilled in. I love mine except for the noise they make over bumps and rough roads.

Check out www.discbrakesrus.com They have a complete Cobra front brake swap kit for our cars. It comes with 13" rotors drilled with the correct lug pattern & the 2 piston PBR calipers. You can get them powder coated with Tbird emblems if you want. I got a set from them about 4 years ago & it was one of the easiest swaps I've ever done. You don't need a hub rings with this kit. I upgraded to the Hawk HPS pads & what a difference it made. Their prices are also very good compared to others like Baer, Stainless Steel Brake, etc.
You will need at least 17" rims for this swap. I have 17" Cobra R rims & they clear just fine.
As far as the spare goes if you get a flat in front simply take off a rear tire, mount the spare there & put that rear tire on the front. That way you can retain your original spare.

Good luck

Jim
Yeah, I was going to do that, but I am doing it for less than half the price of the discbrakesrus setup, sure it doesn't have a thunderbird (which matches my Cougar as well as machined letters C O B R A) and mine are red, and I got the expensive FRPP rotors when I could have gotten cheaper ones, but it is still cheaper, even with what I have to pay to get the rotors machined.

I could have done it for more than 100 bucks less if I had gone with the plain Mach I calipers and some of the Brembo factory replacement rotors. I figure I am doing front and rear for less than the discbrakesrus price, but it is nice to have that option!

The only part of that site that should be a sticky is how nice they look behind 17 inch wheels versus the little ones!

What are you doing with the rears?
Fast Ed brackets, Cobra 11.65 rorotors and the GP lines.

I did basically the same on mine but made my own brackets (before I knew about Fast Ed's). I did it mainly to fill up the space in my 17s
