Can a 1996 DOHC 4.6 Cobra engine sit down in a 95 LX Bird, even with a few mods.

And what engine is #FALP##W#SH###### the site for the Romeo/Windsor Diff is down

yep. It needs a mk8 oil pan and different exhaust manifolds/headers and manifold clearance. You will need a custom tune for the motor to take care of the IMRCs.

IMRC, Would that be Intake Manifold Runner Control?
OIL PAN? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lincoln-Mark-VIII-4-6L-DOHC-Mustang-Oil-Pan_W0QQitemZ260145570343QQihZ016QQcategoryZ6763QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The Engine has the stock manifolds will those work?
Yes, IMRC = Intake Manifold Runner Control. You'll actually need to use a rpm switch setup to run the IMRC's. Your PCM can't run them. You will still need a tune however to run that engine correctly.

That Mark 8 pan is the one that you would need.

I don't know about using the Cobra manifolds. I went the Kooks 3/4 length headers route.

Also, there is a wealth of info on the DOHC swap here. A search on "DOHC swap" will likely turn up info to answer any question on the topic.
