I don't know if this is a problem or EEC protection. I have a 95LX completely stock 4.6L with 56K miles. I can't say if this issue just started or I never noticed it before due to my driving style. When the car is cold, say less than 2 minutes of running, if I get on it, the power flattens out at about 2200 rpm. The engine won't accellerated beyond that point. Once the car warms up, there is no problem. I'm wondering if the ECC has some type of cold engine protection that cuts fuel delivery, because that is what it feels like. When I say cold engine, this is when ambient temperatures are 50° F, not cold weather conditions. I'll also add that the CEL does NOT come on. Otherwise, the car starts, idles, & runs well. Any ideas?
Thanks, FJK
