Just wanting to get some opinions on the best way to move my K&N cone filter out of the hot engine bay and into the cooler fender? It's a 95' 4.6L. Thanks in advance for all suggestions, and even better, pictures!!!

my opinion...go to home depot and get some 3" (or so i believe..) of pvc piping...and make your own...and also get some 3inch rubber connector with the clamps...in the end it will end up something like this...TOTAL of piping and clamps:$9+cone filter

i picked up two 90degree bends...so its like a S shape now...urs might be a little different on the top of the intake...so go and search around for the richard M intake tube, all finish it all off.also if u dont have the air filter yet...make sure u get a cone filter that fits under there.

that seems like a helluva deal, if it came with a K&N filter.....................

Do you have any idea what kind of filter that is? Is it even an oiled filter? Are there knock-offs that are a good as K&N's?

thanks

KnN is the best in my oppinion... My friend bought one of those Red or Blue aftermarket filters that was made of a civic and put it on his SHO . The filter slowed him down and didn't work hardly at all...I would only go with KnN...Thats just me

I have heard that Aceel's Cool blue filters are the best flowing when bench tested due to there much deeper ridges. Plus they are made from some miracle material and there is no need for oiling, thus no oil on the MAF throughing things off, but I still have a k&n in my car, and have had no probelms.

I think most of us who'll fabricate a CAI are smart enough to avoid trying to see if our cars float. ;)

anyone have a link or something on where i can find a metal tube...or something that looks better than the stock rubber tube, for the tube that runs from the throttle body to the MAF...c&l makes one for the GT 4.6s but thats kinda expensive...

It's not any lower than the stock intake.

Filters don't mean jack in the big picture, as long as they do their job well. If you want to spend your money on a blue filter, go ahead....it helps the economy.
