coolant in the cylinders..

Well I figured id change the plugs to see how they looked.. Coolant all up inside. Not sure if its normal to have it there and not in oil. I assume its a headgasket?? If so ive been driven on this since last year without knowing it. Could a faulty tune cause the gasket to go?? The gasket isnt very old.. maybe a year or so. thanks for your input guys

How many plug holes have fluid in them ?
i checked 2 and they both did, plugs were rusty so i quit and left before i set the garage on fire
you sure its not coolant in the plug holes from a leak or something? look down in the plug holes first before removing the plugs and see if they are holding coolant.
Was it on the pass side back towards the firewall ?

Any pics , I had sh*t on the passeger side toward the back and had no issues .

I'll bet it was and I'll bet the rear nipple on the manifold is leaking

:zwthstpd: Same thing happened in my dads 96 cat, it had all the plugs on the driver side full with AT, the damn nipple was broken. Damn you nipple. Thats the 2nd intake we've changed on the car.
Its on the passanger side i didnt check the other yet.. The plugs are rusted as well.. like the whole plug is pretty nasty. I dont ever wash the motor with a hose its all done by hand so I know it wasnt from me. I just want to make sure its not a headgasket.. if it was that would be ok since that would be a good reason why my car runs like ****!!! :) lmk what yall think

btw im going to pull the other plugs today so ill know if both sides are like that.
get some pics of the plugs and let us know about the other side. Which 2 plugs did you pull on the passenger side anyway? that nipple does sit on the back unless you have an explorer PI engine. they didn't have a water nipple back there.

Sounds Familiar. The LE had a leaking rear nipple. The rear two passenger side plugs were always wet. I just cleared them out with compressed air whenever I happened to be under the hood.
I replaced the intake and gaskets on my grandpa's 98 grand marquis this year. He tried to start it for the first time in several months and it wouldn't turn over, it sounded like it wanted too, but wouldn't go. I pulled a few plugs and found that the front two cylinders on the pasenger side were completely full of antifreeze, hydrolocking the motor. I figured it was probably something with the intake, especially since it was the plastic crossover style.

When I took it apart I found out it was just a bad intake gasket. The gasket had cracked across the coolant port and first two cylinders on that side. We put it back together with the updated manifold anyways, and it has been running well ever since.

It was the front two.. All the plugs smelled really strong of gas. I changed them all along with the other side. which the 3rd from the front had what looked like fudge on the tip.. any ideas?

Ask Obucna about that one, he'll tell ya.
Im pretty sure im done messing around with this thing. Ive been in contact with a modular engine builder that is going to see what he can do about building me a motor to support 500-600hp.. Ive had problems for the past 3 years. Its time to let someone else break it.
its not the car, its the operator. you need to check the coolant nipple for leaks, it will cause coolant to leak into the plug from the top side.
not the front cylinders it won't. he said the passenger side fronts were the ones with antifreeze in them... I doubt a leaking rear nipple would make it to the front spark plugs... I mean its very unlikely but I guess anything can happen.
he also said the 3rd from the front....

that cr has so many problems, i dont think he knows where to start.
3rd fron the front on the drivers side has sludge... not coolant.... The FRONT TWO ON THE PASSANGER has the coolant.
you probably tore a manifold gasket and didnt seat the injectors the last time you took the top end of the motor off.
i didnt do any of the motor work in the past year. possibly he tore it but being after a year that its been off.. ive never seen anything anywhere or even the slight hint of the smell
