Are you sure you tightened all of the intake manifold bolts to 22ft-lbs? I worked on a car one time where someone missed a bolt in the rear and it lost coolant similar to how you describe.

Im pretty sure we got all 11, we tightned them to 15 then again to 22, but we will find out when we rip it apart AGAIN. Im gonna be a master mechanic buy the time I get this manifold installed :) .

Which manifold did you get? Which gaskets did you get for it? THe rear coolant passage is easy to damage. Are you sure that the gasket is ok?

About the coolant leakage, to get at the back two bolts we used a extension that rotated could that have possibly thrown off the torque wrench enough to allow coolant to shoot out??
