Hey guys,

'04 PI Engine;
In a car WITHOUT heat, is the tube that runs under the intake a must? All it does is provide coolant for the heater core correct? Any kind of kit to get rid of it? Or would I be better off just capping it off somehow?

Also, I was snooping around on ModularDepot, and saw a thing on a coolant mod, basically putting a cross-over between the rear of the cylendars on the intake, anyone do this on a plastic intake w/ success?

Just trying to get a few things straightened out before I continue,

Thanks guys,

Brandon

physically it's done but the car is not in running condition yet so didn't know if it's gonna stay put leak free or it'll leak???
and you see where i put mine? if you gotta do it measure it with your fuel rail installed. i didn't and the fuel rail is blocking the hose a bit.

Cool, how long till its on a running car ginnie pig...errr ahhh uhhh, Casper? LOL

Just drill through and use a regular pipe thread tap?

LOL, that 2nd picture looks like the beginning to a terrible joke "A fortune cookie, stove burner, and PI intake walk into a bar....." Hahaha, just messing with ya.

Thanks for the pics,

the intake is physically in the car now. just have some minor stuff till the car is ready to run but i'm leaving the country for 2 months.

so will let you know next january.

use a small drill butt for pilot hole, then keep moving up the size and i have a max 1/2" bit at the moment, and still not big enough. then i use the triangle sanding stone i have laying around and use that instead. the high speed drill will make the sanding stone heat up the intake and kinda melt it and make the hole just big enough to BARELY start the first thread on the intake. then heat the fitting real good until 220-250 f and start threading. 3/4 npt size fitting is what i use. i do it 3 times until the fitting is just enough stopping in the middle thread and take it out. let it cool down and use teflon tape and tighten it down. snug a little bit more but not too much or you'll risking cracking the intake.
