Looking to change the coolant temp sensor located on the intake, this is the one on drivers side near the thermostat. Ford says to drain the coolant, the coolant was just chenged maybe 2 months ago, if the car is cold do you really think this is neccesscery?

Might need to drain a LITTLE or deal with a little bit leaking out. I did mine (on a composite, not aluminum intake like yours) and just drained enough to get the level lower than the sensor, but I think it would have only leaked a little bit, easy to clean up.
