What years engines have the sensor on the side of the oil pan?

Are the injectors the same for a 1988 and 1989?

Any major internal differences between an 88 and 89 3.8? So far I have found that the upper intake is a little different (has run through piping), different 02 plugs, different main wiring harness plug, and valve covers are a little different, injectors have different markings and colors, and also discovered it is a real pain in the *** to find this out AFTER the you put everything on and are plugging in the main wiring harness to try and start it. And yes it took me another 3 hours to get it switched over.

Does the repair manual say to remove upper intake when putting engine in car? I have found that it will not squeeze in there with it on (of course I had tranny on it too). Not matter how hard you push and how many times you readjust the jacks and hoist it just won't fit.

Has anyone changed the oil pan gasket without removing the engine?

If you flip an engine on its side and then turn it back over again will there be oil in pistons if the rings are good. How bout upper intake manifold?

just take your hood off and tilt that sucker in. as for the manifold yeah, i theres a good possibility that it wont work if the 88 didnt have that coolant passege under the throttle body. i had a ported one shipped from super six and they sent a older one (mines a 94), and it wouldnt work because it had that coolant passage. nomatter how hard i tried i couldnt get that sucker in. as for the rest i got no clue, hope that helps a little
