Well, I've been plagued with an oil leak which started a a small seep and has turned into several drops on the ground where I park. I pulled the front cover and changed the gaskets, even used RTV all the way around. That didn't get it. Then I pulled the crank sensor and lubed it with RTV (general area of leak). Two major efforts and didn't find it.

Today I was under the car fixing an exhaust leak. FRPP shorty header on passenger side is warped and was leaking out both ends! Okay that's another subject. Well I spent a bit of time and cleaned things up. Then I noticed the source.

My front timing cover has a hairline crack under the tensioner!

All this time I thought maybe I'd done something wrong while working on my car. Well I guess I did miss this crack when I had it off a while back. But at least it wasn't from an improper install.

This little tensioner s*cks anyway. Now's a good time to upgrade to a better tensioner design.
