I love searching CraigsList for smokin deals, found a few awesome ones lately, but I told someone, in a cool-headed remark, to quit listing their junk (~100 postings of old thrift store quality clothes at near new prices) on CL. They told me I was rude, need to get a life, and that's what CL is intended for. In 400 results under $250, they have about 100. I'm just tired of them reposting every few days. Any solutions? I think they also posted a phone number.

I can list our conversation, too, if you want to see.

I love and hate craigslist, I've made sold a lot of crap without having to deal with fees and shipping but rampant tire kickers, no shows and spammers are almost unbearable.

I had a similar experience to you as well. I decided to publicly post this in the for sale section...

primetimechicagoauto - Major spammers!!!!

Is listing that tan 1997 Cougar (and god knows how many other cars) 24 TIMES(!!!) really getting you any extra interest in it?

I'm guessing no since it's been listed for several months. (maybe focus on hiring a competent sales force rather than an E hack for craigslist ads)

Amazing how no matter how no matter how many times I flag your ludicrous overposts they still seem to be up. Sadly this post will probably get flagged immediately. Hopefully the honest craigslist users see who the bigger abuser of the site is first though.

How nice.
Shockingly nobody flagged me and the seller only relisted the car 5 times(last I checked) so maybe I was actually effective:D

Here it is, I'm not so tired.

Craigslist is a forum to sell items, that is what I am doing, if you are offended stop looking.* I, as well as others are using it appropriately for what it was intended as, and that is a place to list items locally for sale.* There are many items that I am not interested in or see listed more than once, guess what, I don't write or post negative things to the seller, I bypass the ad.* You would be wise to take a life lesson in civility, for writing to me is very rude and definitely against Craigslist rules and principles.* I would also like to suggest that if your world revolves around what I am selling and actually makes you that upset to the point of writing a*email, you definitely need to step away from the monitor and go outside and enjoy life.* I will continue to list items on Craigslist and to the others that you have written or "reported", I hope they get the same laugh and pity*as I did upon reading your email, its really sad that something so benign as*my listings*irritates you so.* Enjoy.

I had an odd Craigslist thing happen to me. I was going to purchase a set of 1990 SC Seats for $10.00. The guy just wanted to them gone. I was going to plunder them for parts to keep my seats going...

The guy says, meet me at the 7-11 the next morning. I went to the 7-11 at the agreed time and was 5 minutes early. I waited for him for 20 before I tried his cell phone. He didn't answer so I left a voice mail. I waited until 30 minutes and texted him that I had to move on. Never got ahold of me.. Later in the day, I get a text saying he had a family emergancy. I wasted 2 hours between waiting for him and driving across town.

I won't meet at a public location again. Its either at your house or I am not buying. My e-mail address should show people that I am not a axe murderer.

If what they are doing is what the site was intended for there wouldn't be the ability to flag listings for spam/overposts.
Problem is not enough people use the flag system to make a difference on the bigger spammers.... most would rather bi__h than use *their* time to help improve the experience. I've thought about creating a site that's sort of a take off on the rants & raves section.... Where a user could go to post the link to the offensive posts and ask others that agree to help flag them off. I'd probably end up with a cease and desist letter though.
