I need a longer one. I apparently lost the one to my other piggyback set.

the tourque specs for the crank bolt on my 97 4.6 was 118-121ft lbs. maybe the 4.6's need a little more than the 5.0's?

I have the longer crank bolt. M12x1.5x80 10.9 is what you need. You can't find it many places w/o getting a fairly large order. If you want one let me know.

Frank, You sure it was that high on the 4.6? Well it that is the case and you REALLY need a high end fastener.

Rob,
The grade 10.9 is a metric grade and is equivalent to the standard grade 8 fasteners. BTW the metric 8.8 fastener is in no way as strong as our grade 8 as one might think as that rating is equivalent to the standard grade 5.5 and should never be used where a hardened fastener is required.

Regards

I always just tighten the hell out of it with a 1/2" drive impact wrench. :D

For the stock 4.6 Crank (Damper) Bolt:

Summit Racing... PN: ARP 156-2501 ... $17.95

Here's the link to order on-line ARP Crank Bolt / Summit.

Jegs probably can get it too, but they don't have it listed in the catalogue or on-line.. Their PN would be 070-156-2501 most probably...
