Anyone know if we can fit a lightning crank pulley on a 4.6 and will all the pulleys line up?

Its specifically for my 2002 Explorer motor.

Thanks in advance.

I am pretty sure that the 5.4L tucks use an 8 rib pulley, while our engines use the 6 rib. I know some guys around here have done the 8 rib conversion, so it may be worth looking into.

Yeah the Lightnings are 8-rib. But I thought that would not be a big deal for now. Can't I just NOT use 2-ribs on the crank pulley if I wanted to stay 6-rib everywhere else for the time being?

lol... If the answer is no, then im back to square one. I'm looking for a way not to fork out almost a grand right now on an 8rib system I don't think I need yet. I just want to crank this m90 to see what it can do. A bigger crank pulley will allow me to grip better with a bigger blower pulley so I can push some strong solid psi up top.

I can't see why not as long as the grooves line up, I've seen belts with a rib or two stay in place, my tensioner pulley on my exploder locked up and took a couple of ribs off, I didnt have the extra cash to buy a new belt with the pulley, so the belt stayed that way for awhile ( I forgot about it)

You probably could. I mean, if it stays taut, the belt should ride ok. Just don't be surprised if it comes off occasionally. Also, just be careful not to overspeed the M90 by too much. Spinning it faster may not make more power anyhow, since the roots blowers literally run into a brick wall past a certain point.

Right thanks.

I won't go past 11psi. From what I understand one of the biggest issues is the heat the m90's start to create. Im prepared to combat the heat. Ive plumbed a rear H/E with its own fan and im currently spraying meth/water. Hopefully I will have good IAT's at this boost level. We'll see.

Im starting to understand better how to set up pulley sizes ect. It was pretty silly of me saying im setting up for 11psi ill be safe...

Can someone please tell me what the max rpm on the m90?

Thanks

Yeah looks like the lighting uses the same dampener as the rest. I just bought a 5.4 8rib dampener and ASP is making it bigger then balancing it.
