Grey goo found on the drive way. Leak on the inner boot.
Any advice on a replacement CV axle as far as what brand to buy?
Rock Auto does not look like they have good parts right now.
Is the Auto Zone Duralast Gold CV Axle B10070N good?

I want to keep the original CV axle to rebuild and keep as a spare.

I haven't used the Duralast Tbird axles. But I've used plenty of the rest of their Duralast gold axles. Never had any issues. Plus they have lifetime warranty.

Repairing the boot is a easy task. Finding the replacement boot will be a harder task.
When you find the replacement boot, buy an extra.

Also get the correct band crimping tool.

I just replaced the new Tracmotive axles bought from RA. They are very weak, loose everywhere, even when new! Caused vibration at 55+ mph. Just like way out of balance rear wheels.
I began by replacing the wheels, but same problem. Finally decided to replace both axles after noticed that they were very loose when I grab them by the shaft. I put 2 Mark VIII used ones from a 97, and no more vibrations. So I do not recommend these axles. 97-98 Mark VIII ones are the best, I think.🧰

I bought Raybestos, $60 each, a few years ago. They are great.
