this new guy at work with a first gen SOHC automatic Neon (U may remember my rany regarding another Neon guy at work planning on 9's ;) ) but this is a different guy. He's always saying my car is a "old man car" and I'm like.... better than a girly grociery getter with no balls!! Anyway, he keeps trying to tell me how he's always smoking Probe GT's in his stock automatic pile o' crap! I mean WTF? I didn't even need to hear the details, I was just like... NO! I don't think so buddy! Nice try though. He's like what? Probes suck, GTs or whatever! I'm like yeah that near 200hp DOHC V6 aint got nothing on your 127hp SOHC 4 banger eh? WEll, next time he calls my car an old mans car I'm just gonna plain out say "Whatever, this old mans car will spank your crappy, slow, rattle box of a car!" Whats he gonna do then? Race me?!!? LOL, that would be fun for a laugh! I just don't get it, there is like 10 ricer neons in this small town. There is even a club called "Neon Life" as if thats the kinda slow arse, whining little girly life you actually want to have? Yeah you guys sure are living it up!

Oh god, I'm getting all fired up again... I better go to bed!

i mean comon guys hekinda has a point
i mean theres 3 factors in dragracin weight traction and hp the neon way over rules thos big bird in 2 of 3 and i mean if you put a huge can and some nawzzz on it it will spank thos dumb old peeps carz

Heh, the other day I was walking into 7-11 to get my hourly cup of coffee, when the driver of this little red beat up piece of crap (think it was a honda, but don't really care) gets out and shouts to me. When I look back, he yells "V-8 KILLA!", then proceeds to rev his pea shooter with the bee can exaust tip on the back. I smirked, shook my head, walked inside, got my coffee, walked out, and left.

I don't need to bring myself down to that level...

I shouldn't admit it but yyeasterday, a five speed 2004 Cavelear came up a side of me at a stop light....It looked bone stock and I got a got a good jump, but still he ran with me all the way to 60 neck and neck!!! I felt bad.... for my self and for my car...I need to do something serious...and for now I need to keep my mouth closed about how my car can smoke any thing bacuse it can't My time from October is on the bottom.

our 2 ton sleds are slow off the line, we just feel this big surge of power when our powerband comes into play (when we try to catch up). A torque converter will leave those POS in the dust as long as you have the tires to grip the road. And after 60, you're car will eat that cavvy apart. THats where our cars are powerful.

That reminds me of a kid in my school, he has a 91 CRX with a ZC swap and it has the stock hf tranny, then he has a 55 shot and no other stuff besides exhaust and a header. He keeps trying to tell me his car ran a 13.2 when he was going 16.0's before the 55 shot. He refuses to let me see his time slip and then refuses to race my stang after he sits there and talks crap on it. Then he goes around telling people he beat me at the track and how he pulls me out of the hole.(and if any of you have ridden in a mustang with gears, built motor and drag radials you'll understand why i thought that was funny:D ) Most people that know my car laugh at him but it gets annoying, but its kind of funny that he uses my car to compare his to. He was also scared of my tbird for some reason, I think it had to do with the vaccum cleaner from hell sound it had under half throttle :tongue:

But for the most part its just easier to ignore people that talk crap and all that. but if it comes to racing them, get some witnesses and record it and every time he says somethign pull out the video to make em feel dumb

I drove a Mustang \ the other night that was pretty quck...looked a lot faster than it was because of all the cobra R stuff, definantly way faster than a GT....ricers dont know what's up....I got back in my focus "wtf why is my clutch pedal so light?"

i have a 97 neon with the dohc engine (150hp) before i got my bird and to beat the probe.......

it only has a 3 speed auto tranny and even with very good condition in it the temp meter will start pulling upwards anytime i pulled more than 80 mph at the day time.
night time(cooler) its fine at even 100 mph. but to beat a probe gt...i drive my friend's one before and there's no way the neon can beat that.

^-- Give the man a prize. Who cares what stupid ricer or his stupid ricer friends think? I like how this whole street racer thing has developed into this big d*ck measuring contest where everyone's pride is at stake at every friggin stop light. I mean, I can see if you were truly serious about building a car and poured your whole life and career into it (like maybe, an NHRA car...) how you might be truly upset about losing.

If you can't seriously be proud of your car for just being a good car that gets you where you want to go, looks good, and has some personality, maybe you need to reevaluate why you even own it. The thing I love about the ricers is how they'll take what is essentially a pretty good car (sometimes...) and the only reason they really like it is because they think it can beat some other car. Reminds me of "my dad can beat up your dad" stuff :D

I'ts funny how ricer-ism has taken cars that would, in a normal world, be rotting away in a junkyard, becuase they where never meant to be "classics" or anything...and people are restoring them...restoring a throw-away car...dont quite understand that. Plus it's just idiocy at it's worst. It seems like it started in the mid to late 90s...was it always around in some form? Somebody I knew told me I should get the "V6 Mustang GT" Which he insists is real...and drop a 4 cyl into it becuase it'd be "better to build that" yeah right...another guy claims they still make a 4 cyl stang...people. And I love the ones who say they beat "2003 5.0 stangs" or just people in general who still think the stang has a 5.0....man people are idiots. Okay I'm done now.

ok not to sound like an idiot, but ive driven my moms neon and ist not that bad. if it had a manual it would prolly take the bird(if it was stock) but the automatic takes all the way to 55mph to shift into 2nd. just looking under the engine i see a little potential, maybe a cai, better intake, heads(2.0 heads easy to come by) and headerback exhaust and it can hit high 14. definately not a drag car but a good sleeper. lol and then my mom goes "can we put nos in it?" i was just like :eek: she did not just say that? but she did, but then said she wants it where she needs a seperate key that only dad has, so she wouldnt use it everywhere she went, only when dad drives it. but then she messed around with my head some more when i caught her on ebay looking at neon stuff, and she points at this body kit and carbon fiber hood and says she wants them. but i have to admit, after driving a srt4 that those neons are not to be fked around with. theres a mopar upgrade kit that upgrades the timing, computer, injectors and intake piping, maf and some other crap that puts the srt4 over the 300hp mark. thats just nuts. a little neon making 300 hp will run at least a low 13, possibly high 12's. and theyre cheap cars too, the dealership was asking 22,000 for this yellow one. for performance/price wise, beats the lancer evo and wrx STi(all of which i have test drove) but id rather have the Evo for what its worth. if im gonna spend 20,000+ on a car, i want one that looks like it goes fast even standing still, not like might go fast getting groceries.

You know what my pet peeve is? A lot of times a f***ing ricer would be following me like they want to race me or something, so I would slow down just to see what they'd do. Nothing, when I would finally turn or get off that street, then they pull up and start reving their POS engine with their coffee can muffler as they drive away like they had wanted to race me but I got away, what a dork.
