how do you determine the pi heads? i read the article on the diff between the windsor and romeo but must have missed something.trying to figure out what i have.

It will say PI on the head, it will have more rectangular elongated intake ports rather than round ones

Read it wrong: Romeo=bolt on cam gears
Windsor= press on

Valve cover bolts(Holes) are 11 on the Romeo's !

i got that part but my engine is all together with 80,000 babied miles and the more i read about everyone changing to the pi heads just had me wondering how to tell without taking anything apart.

Oh m well the Pi intake has only one temp semsor on the water crossover .
Npi have the two temo sensors .

No , like someone else said it Would have PI stamped on the heads for it
to be 99-2004 Pi head

Well from 99 up mustangs and CV not sure but I think 2001 explorers 2002 .

Not sure on the exact years other then the mustang .

There is a pretty good article on the tech pages here .

It sounds like your trying to figure out if you have PI heads on your car.....I can tell you right now without you taking anything apart that you have romeo heads and they are npi, no thunderbird came factory with PI heads or winsor heads.... if your looking to swap yours to a pi head look at the intake ports on the new ones if they are shaped like a "o" with a small indent swirl they are NPI.... if they look like an "0" with a small indent swirl they are PI....

Actually the Crown Vic didn't get PI heads until 01.
