some differences

The optional Sport Package gave the TBird better handling through bigger wheels, wider tires and a somewhat stiffer suspension. And of course a fancy script Sport badge.

In 1996 there's only one Thunderbird model -- the LX. The Super Coupe and its supercharged V6 engine were discontinued.

The optional 4.6-liter V8 had some revisions to the intake; although its horsepower remained at 205 a lower-ratio gearing improved acceleration from a standstill.

The redesigned 96-97 intake leaves the hp at 205 but adds 15lb-ft of torque more, whic erally helps accel from a standstill.

True, while most came with 3.08 open differential, but mine for example has 3.27 Trac-Loc according to the AX code on the driver's side door frame sticker.
