Well I started removing the old trans today. Couple of interesting things. I removed the cooler line and started the car to pump out the pan. After several seconds I got one spurt and nothing else. The next thing I did was drop the pan....still very full of Merc...I've had a merc shampoo before but this was the first time I had a facial. ANyways lots of debris in the pan....all of it seems to be bronze in color and non magnetic

That definitely looks like aluminum ... if it is ... your case has some damage ... may have to replace. That totally sucks a$$.

That's from the roller one-way clutch-I've seen that before,and it's just a normal result from runing the old roller style one-way-they tend to self-destruct.

Looks like you may the right decision... that trans is toast... It'll make a good anchor along with your old heads...

Lemme know when you need a hand muscle-ing the old one out and the new one in... I'll call Scott...:D

the old one is out

I did it by myself today....I am planning to reinstall next saturday
