Son of a b*tch. Got a throttle body off of ebay thinking it was from a 2001 S281, only to find out it came off of a 98 GT...

I thought it would have had a 70 or 75 mm TB. Especially being MY 2001. The TB I got had 98 Part numbers and was the same size as my stock 96 TB.

See.. the part number didn't bother me in the auction, I just figured he pulled the wrong PN from wherever, mainly because he represented the part as the TB from a 2001 S281... Dunno.. if he takes the item back I won't have any problems.. my main problem is that I bought it outside of ebay and paid to have it 2-dayed to me so I could have it on by Friday.

So did Ford switch to a bigger TB on the Mustangs at a certain year? Just wondering for when I am at the junkyards.

98' should be the same size as a 96'.
I think he was mistaken on his info, cuz 96-98 had a different size throttle body.
Not sure if there is anything you can do about that, which sux a$$.

He's trying to tell me that 98-04 have the same TB on them, which is horse ****. I might be able to do something through paypal, but I doubt it.

you can get your money back through paypal, by fileing an alert. I don't have the link anymore but i did it twice successfully. But, try to work it out first with the seller, call them on the phone.

Whatever. I took his word at face value that it did come off of an S281, and that's not the case. I'm just trying to get things back to square one and luckily the seller is less of a dick than you are.

He's agreed to give me back 50 bucks, which is better than nothing so I'm not all that worried about it. 10 bucks plus whatever return shipping costs is good enough for me.

Yeah, it's not like the car it supposedly came off of should have a 98' throttle body.
So I think it's your mistake for assuming (I probably would have done the same thing though), but he appearently "lied" in his auction, so screw him, get your money back however it takes.

That sound good, glad you aren't gonna get totally screwed. It may have been an honest mistake on his part. His willing to give you some money back helps support that theory. Hopefully he actually does send you that money.

I payed 60 dollars for it and it was here 2nd day after I purchased it. THe shipping label said it cost 17 something.
