dont just the trucks have head temp sensors? which is tied in with the failsafe cooling system. The only temp sensors for the engine are the two at teh crossover at the front of the manifold.

I use CHT on my 02 explorer motor with takes the place of the driver side coolant sensor that runs to the EEC.

thank you so very much the reason I'm asking is they (ford) say's that a bad ect could throw a P0420 DTC but now that I know where the ect is I know that I have already replaced it. so now I will check the fuel pressure and see what that tells me. I'm following the trouble shooting guide from ford to correct the DTC. again thank you
