So, is there any feedback that the EEC recieves from the dash assy.? If a gauge were replaced with an aftermarket one, would the EEC throw any codes? If all the gauges were replaced, and the original senders left in, how would the EEC react?

well i had a spare cluster i damaged the circuit board on and the needle wasnt moving on my tach. and the volt meter wasnt working as well but i wasnt getting any check engine lights. i dont see why you would get a cel if you re-wired the speedo output to an aftermarket gauge or any other gauge for that matter.

i dont believe any of the feedback from the gauges go to the eec, they are from the eec

The only input to the cluster from the EEC is the Check Engine light. It doesn't care if it doesn't work/is removed. However, the airbag light needs to remain functional or the airbag controller will start beeping.
